West Coast Print Fair 2021 – Mesh Art Gallery

Physically attending art fairs became impossible over the last year. As a result, organizations scrambled to move into the virtual world. Dealers and artists had to continue presenting their artwork in keeping with schedules their attending public had grown to expect. The online 2021 West Coast Print Fair encompassed a number of fairs that are normally held from Seattle to San Diego in the early months of each year. When in person attendance returns to the various West Coast print fairs, this virtual model will run concurrently. It will enable those who can’t attend access to viewing and purchasing. I was fortunate to participate in this 2021 edition with Mesh Art Gallery which is located in Chicago.

Birth of the Online West Coast Print Fair

After recreating the New York Satellite Print Fair as a successful virtual event in the  fall of 2020, PrintFairUSA brought this new format to the West coast. They then merged the cancelled West coast fairs which included the Portland Fine Print Fair, the Bay Area Print Fair and the Los Angeles Print Fair. Thanks to the tireless work of Ed Pollack (Edward T. Pollack Fine Arts) and Bernard Derroitte (Armstrong Fine Art & Mesh Art Gallery) forty-three dealers, publishers and galleries came together for this online eighteen day event.

Art Represented

The most well respected specialists from across the United States as well as from Australia, Belgium, France and the Netherlands participated in the fair. Over two thousand incredible works on paper ranging from the 15th through the 21st century were available for viewing on this new online platform.
