Kate Hendrickson Works of Art on Paper, the art dealer is pleased to introduce you to KATE HENDRICKSON, the artist. After many years of creative energy focused towards the refinement of the gallery, I have now returned to making my own artwork. This has been a personal journey which I am now sharing.
As to the big why, this info you will be able to find at the website. But, as to "why the shells"? Most were collected during vacations on the East Coast from N.J. to N.C. when I was a little girl. Being the first objects ever collected, they have been boxed and carried with each move throughout adulthood. They were familiar things in which to rediscover a skill long dormant. In the drawings, the shells have become luminous, tactile forms, sensuous and mysterious.
Regarding the future, consider this pursuit of mine as another dimension of what Kate Hendrickson Works on Paper has to offer.
