Kate’s Book Nook – The Art of Beatrix Potter by Emily Zach

The Art of Beatrix Potter is a beautifully laid out book which takes us through her life geographically from London to various countrysides in Scotland, in Wales and elsewhere in Great Britain.  She fell in love with the places where she stayed extended periods of time and they played an important part in the creation of the illustrations for her beloved children’s books. We learn about her formative years and her independent nature as we follow her journey to being a published author with her first book and then her second and so on. With an immensely talented eye, she not only created charming animal characters for her stories but skillfully recorded images of her surrounding environment. The book is packed with her observations of the animals, plants and landscapes. Had it not been for a family friend who introduced her to the publisher, we may never have known the Tale of Peter Rabbit nor the subsequent fairytales.   <<BUY NOW>>
