Last year I spoke at the Center for Architecture Sarasota‘s Gallery Talks program durning the Modern Show fundraising weekend. This year I was asked to coordinate the speakers for the program which would take place on May 5, 2018.
Jennifer Masters, Interior Designer and owner of &Masters – Interiors & Fine Art presented, “Sublime Collaboration – Art, Furniture and Interiors”, how to create collections of art and furniture that live in harmony.
Jill Geisdorf, Interior Designer LEED, AP of Chic on the Cheap discussed, “Good Design Within Reach”, the appeal and availability of modern furniture design and ways to add a modern aesthetic at many price points.
Leslie Butterfield, Ph.D offered an overview, “Design and Collaboration with Carl Abbott”, insight and stories from the project to design the Butterfield House on Siesta Key. Carl Abbott is part of the recognized Sarasota School of Architecture.
Tony McCormack, owner of McCormack & Company and Kate Hendrickson shared their enthusiasm for collecting in the conversation, “Why, What and How I Collect” and gave an inside view of this world. Anyone can be a collector.
